John Gibson, b.1958

Gibson paints invented still lifes that feature spheres in various arrangements, single, paired and sometimes in precarious piles that look as though they have been recorded in the split second before they topple to the ground. Since 1993, he has produced a large body of prints and monoprints in collaboration with WIngate Studio. These etchings are a continuation of his long time exploration of the still life within the confines of this strict pictorial universe. Many of these prints are available through Wingate Studio.
